The All Night Grad Party Needs Your Help!

Sign up here to volunteer at the all night grad party. It’s a Cavalier tradition that freshman, sophomore, and junior parents help out with the event to “pay it forward” for when their own kids are celebrating. It’s a really fun night and we provide free food, drinks, and coffee all night! If you can’t stay up all night, there are still roles you can help with.

2025-2026 PTSO Board Positions Open

Volunteers needed for 2025-26 PTSO Board Positions

As the 24-25 year draws to a close, the PTSO is in need of several volunteers for 2025-26. We are so grateful for our officers and other volunteers who have given many years of service and wish them well as their seniors graduate. The Woodson PTSO relies on parent volunteers to help build membership and fundraise, so that we can maximize our Fall & Spring Grant budgets for the student/teacher community. The PTSO also hosts various events for the teachers and staff that need support.

Our PTSO needs your help. Please consider volunteering for one of the available positions below. Feel free to reach out to Sara Mastro or Nicole Spindler if you have questions.

2025-26 Open Positions:

President - Act as the team leader for the PTSO. Coordinate the Spring & Fall Grant program. Act as the liaison between school Administration and the PTSO. Facilitate the monthly PTSO Virtual Zoom meetings.

Membership Director - Promote PTSO membership, with an emphasis on Back To School events and the start of the year. Work alongside the team to find creative ways to boost membership. Enter the membership data into the ptboard website.

Fundraising Director - Create partnerships with local businesses and community members to increase funding for the PTSO.

Senior Legacy Brick Coordinator - Collect orders for Senior Legacy Bricks. Work alongside the Communications Director to promote brick sales throughout the year. Please contact Shane & Katherine at wptsobricks@gmail.com for more information if you are interested.

Garden Flag Coordinator - Help find a new vendor to produce Woodson garden flags. Work alongside the Communications Director to promote, collect orders and coordinate delivery.

Can’t volunteer? Consider donating to support next year's initiatives here

SOL Season – Laptops and Personal Electronic Devices

Students are required to use FCPS-issued laptops for SOL testing. Students are responsible for making sure their software is up to date and their keyboards, screens, etc. are in good working order. To ensure software is up-to-date, laptops should be powered on and connected to the internet before the test date. Updates will download automatically.

If students need FCPS laptop technical support at Woodson HS, please submit a ticket using the Student Support Request Page.

Our walk-in hours in Room A112/A114 are:

  • Odd Days during Returns
  • Monday - 7:45am - 8:10am

Any other time you should try to make an appointment using a ticket from the Support Portal.

We want to also remind families that students may not have access to their electronic personal devices of any kind (phones, watches, etc.) in the SOL testing environment, except in the case of a documented medical need. Please be aware that any personal devices carried into the testing environment will be subject to the school’s established procedures for addressing this as a test security concern.

Underclass Student Intent Form

If you will NOT be attending Woodson this fall, please let Woodson Student Services know now by clicking here to complete the student intent form. You may either scan and email the form to return it, or have your student bring it to school and drop it off in Student Services.

If your student will be returning to Woodson next year, there is no need to complete or return the form.

Student Services will make sure all transcripts and records are forwarded to your child’s new school so their file is complete.  If you have any questions, please contact Woodson registrar Darlene Sheppard at 703-503-4622 or dmsheppard@fcps.edu.

Volunteers Needed for AP Testing

Woodson High School is in search of parent volunteers and/or recent graduate volunteers for this spring’s AP testing. This is a great opportunity to volunteer during the school day! Training will be provided.

AP exams will take place from May 5th – May 16th. There are two test sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Morning test sessions require proctors to be present from 7:45 a.m.-11:45 a.m. (approximately). Afternoon test sessions require proctors to be present from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (approximately).

Please contact Jamie Korpacz (jlkorpacz@fcps.edu) and Victoria Powell (vpowell1@fcps.edu) if you are able to volunteer and help proctor. As always, we greatly appreciate the support from our parents/guardians. Thank you!

Woodson Sports Physical Night

Tuesday, June 10, 2025

Every year, the Woodson Athletic Training Program hosts a Sports Physical Night. The goal of Sports Physical Night is to provide a complete pre-participation examination screening that will leave student athletes with a valid VHSL physical for the entirety of the following School Year. Each year, it is required that all student athletes have a completed VHSL physical on file before participating in sports. The price will be $50 as it has been in previous years.

Hosting this event is our Athletic Training Program’s ONLY fundraiser for the year as we do not receive any funding from the county. ALL proceeds go towards helping the program purchase supplies. Without your support we would not be able to provide the services we do for our student-athletes. Appointment times will be available at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30pm.  REGISTER FOR APPOINTMENT HERE

**Click here** for the NEW VHSL Physical Form

Want to Volunteer?

We are always looking for physicians and HCP's to complete the actual physical exams (MD, DO, NP, PA) as well other HCP’s comfortable with taking vital signs. If you are willing and able to donate your time, it is greatly appreciated. If not, and you know of some others that would be able to assist us, please feel free to spread the word! REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER HERE

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to Chris Hogge, ATC at chogge@fcps.edu.
