Crossfield Preschool Opportunity
Crossfield Elementary will have community peers in our preschool program. Our students in the Early Childhood Special Education Program benefit from participation in activities with typically developing peers. Teaching preschoolers with delays and without delays in the same classroom offers young children a more stimulating environment, teaches skills for coping with different situations, and provides the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills. A limited number of community preschoolers (1-2 per class), ages 3 ½ - 5 years, will be invited to participate in our daily preschool activities.
All children learn through play. Intellectual growth occurs in a social context, influenced strongly by the quality of social interactions. The goal of this program is to encourage active learning and promote social interaction and acceptance through shared experiences between the community children and our preschoolers with special needs. If you are interested in this opportunity complete the interest form and return by April 11, contact Crossfield Elementary (703) 295-1100 or email Laura Noll (lenoll@fcps.edu) for further explanation of our program.

7th Grade Immunization Requirement
The Code of Virginia, (https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title22.1/chapter14/section22.1-271.2/) , requires all students to be immunized against certain communicable diseases. All students entering 7th grade are required to receive one dose of each of the following immunizations prior to the beginning of school: Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. Students who do not meet this requirement will be unable to start school in the fall.
If you have records of these Immunization, please submit them to Kristy Kim at kskim1@fcps.edu
Please update the School Public Health Nurse of any medical conditions that may impact your student’s school day.
Spring weather is here and with that comes spring allergies - it's that time in the year to start those allergy medications! Allergy symptoms can be difficult to differentiate between cold, flu, and COVID 19 symptoms. It is important to have seasonal allergies documented as a health condition so we know why your student is symptomatic and what symptoms he/she may present with.
