This April was Sarcoidosis Awareness Month and it was a great opportunity for us to shout about sarcoidosis, the work we do, and our supporters. Read about everything we got up to this month! |

| SarcoidosisUK Research Innovation Award 2025 Launch | |
| On World Sarcoidosis Awareness Day, we launched an exciting new initiative - the SarcoidosisUK Research Innovation Award 2025. This is the first of three annual research awards being funded to encourage greater research into sarcoidosis. We are asking for applications for researchers in the UK seeking to address any of our research priorities: - Expand the understanding of sarcoidosis.
- Improve diagnosis and prognosis.
- Discover new and better treatments.
- Address quality of life issues for those living with sarcoidosis.
- Sarcoidosis epidemiology in the UK.
Applications close at the end of June, and we expect to announce the successful applicants towards the end of October.

| Help us Reach £25,000 for Sarcoidosis Research! | |
| Thank you so much to everyone who has donated this Sarcoidosis Awareness Month. This year, every pound raised in April is going directly into funding vital sarcoidosis research. Sarcoidosis suffers from low-levels of research, and so we’re looking forward to dedicating a whole month to building our research fund, to be able to build a bigger picture of sarcoidosis and work towards better outcomes for sarcoidosis patients. We've raised just over £20,000 directly for sarcoidosis research so far. Can you help us reach £25,000? | |

| | Our Incredible Awareness Month Fundraisers! | |
| We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved this Sarcoidosis Awareness Month to help raise vital funds for and awareness of sarcoidosis. We saw a huge range of fundraising activities and the money they raised will truly make such a difference to those affected by sarcoidosis. Thank you for being a part of our team! We would like to say a big thank you to: - Our amazing Twitch fundraiser, who shows their continued support by hosting a Dandelion Festival stream every April;
- Agnieszka held a Coffee Morning at work after making some incredible baked goods;
- Alex completed a gruelling 97km Ultramarathon around the Isle of Arran;
- Nick, who shared his story below, and Darcey took on the Brighton Marathon;
- Danielle spread the word of sarcoidosis at her work with a raffle, tombola and more;
- Joe took SarcoidosisUK international by completing the Paris Marathon;
- Nicole and James powered through the rain at the Glasgow Kiltwalk;
- Find out why Sue and Craig both took on the London Marathon for sarcoidosis;
- An adventurous 11 year old who braved a 15 foot free fall at the Highland Swing in support of her mum!
We're also wishing Dee's partner Pablo the best of luck for his skydive today and eagerly waiting to see how Alice's crochet blanket turns out, which she is generously raffling off in support of us. Thank you so much for all of your support! If you have been inspired by any of their fundraising, please click the link below or get in touch with Eva on eva@sarcoidosisuk.org.

| Nick's Sarcoidosis Story | |
| Our April Sarcoidosis Story is from one of our supporters, Nick. Nick has found running a good way to keep track of his condition and even took on the Brighton Marathon in April to raise vital awareness and funds for sarcoidosis. "My running is actually a good way of monitoring my condition. My consultant says to keep an eye on my pace and if it suddenly starts deteriorating to let him know straight away because that could be a sign that my lungs are beginning to deteriorate and he will get me back in quicker." Click the button below to read more about Nick's journey with sarcoidosis and, if you can, please consider making a donation to his JustGiving page to support his Brighton Marathon challenge! If you'd like to share your sarcoidosis story too, please get in touch via info@sarcoidosisuk.org. | |

| Sarcoidosis Infographics | |
| Many sarcoidosis symptoms can be 'invisible', making it hard to share with family, friends, and colleagues how you feel. That's why we created a number of infographics as a visual way to help explain how sarcoidosis may be affecting you. No two cases of sarcoidosis are the same, so you may have none, all, or some of the symptoms shown, or other symptoms that are not mentioned. We're asking you to download and share these with your community to help spread awareness of the impact of sarcoidosis. | |
