Wednesday's Success Spotlight

Dear Herndon High School Students and Families,

We ready to take on the final months of the school year and we’re excited to spotlight the incredible academic efforts, awards, and achievements happening all around our campus. Each week, this newsletter serves as a celebration of the hard work and dedication that define our students and staff.

At the heart of all we do is our mission: All Hornets are capable of success. No exceptions! This belief drives our commitment to excellence and ensures every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Let’s keep the momentum going—there’s so much more to achieve together!

Go Hornets!

Buzzworthy Breakfast

.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Herndon held its annual Buzzworthy Breakfast. The event recognizes students who have shown exceptional growth and improvement in Academics, Attendance, Attitude, and Effort – the four pillars defining success here at Herndon High School.  Parents, guardians, school administration, and dignitaries from the School Board and Region 1 attended to congratulate and share this moment with our students. Special thank you to our Student Services department for their hard work coordinating this wonderful program.

Puerto Rican Treats

.

At Herndon High School, learning a language goes beyond the textbook. In Spanish for Heritage Speakers class, Señor Rust treated his students to homemade Puerto Rican tostones, offering a fun and engaging way to explore culture.

Guitar Greatness

.

Congratulations to our advanced Guitar students for their stellar performances yesterday at their VA State Assessment at Lake Braddock. Their decorum as well as their musicianship was exemplary. They received the highest ratings of Superior and represented Herndon with Hornet Pride. This means, that across the board, Herndon’s music directors and their ensembles have received the highest rankings possible and have earned the VA Blue Ribbon for outstanding music department. Congratulations to Mr. Fisher, Ms. Waldrop, Ms. Devereux and Mr. Cunningham for this achievement!
