Updates and Closures

  • Mon., May 26 - Long Bridge will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The competition pool will close at 1:30 p.m. Family Play time will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Fri., May 30 - Thurs., June 5 - Long Bridge will operate on an adjusted schedule to accommodate the 2025 World LGBTQIA+ Aquatics Championships. Check the pool hours & lane schedule page to be aware of adjusted times. 


What's Happening at Long Bridge

Water Safety Days: May 24 and 25!

Join us for Water Safety Days on May 24 & 25! This free event is dedicated to making sure every member of your family is confident and safe in the water. Discover and practice essential tips for protecting yourself, your loved ones, and your friends in and around the water. Safety starts with learning the fundamentals of swimming and water awareness.

 

Whether you're learning with your preschooler or joining a session for yourself-- get ready to learn, play, and make waves!

 

Fitness @ Long Bridge 

Yoga    

Drop in for yoga to flow and connect one posture to the next… breathe through your poses to balance and enhance strength. Mondays 6-6:45 p.m., Tuesdays 1:05-1:35 p.m., Thursdays 12:15-1 p.m. and Saturdays: 8-8:45 a.m. Free with a LBAFC fitness membership 

 

Muscle Blast   

Drop in and get your heartrate up and get your resistance training in with weight, TRX, kettlebell, ball, BOSU or band exercises. We’ll work most muscles and challenge your balance before stretching it out in this indoor muscle blast class. Tuesdays 12:15-1 p.m., Wednesdays 6:30-7:15 a.m. and Thursdays 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m. Free with a LBAFC fitness membership.    

 

Cycle   

Warm-up, climb, sprint, interval train and cool-down. Any fitness level is welcome to drop in and go at your own pace. Sundays 8:15-9 a.m., Mondays 6:30-7:15 a.m. and Thursdays 7-7:45 p.m. Free with a LBAFC fitness membership 

 

Equipment Orientation 

Free! Has it been a while since you’ve been in a fitness center? Are you new to fitness equipment? Sign up for a free orientation on Thu., May. 29 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. Sign up at the front desk or email Shanan Knox.

TR Family Night Out - Adapted Roller Skate

On Sat., May 3, TR Family Night Out invites families with a member with a disability to the Thomas Jefferson Community Center for a fun night of roller skating for the whole family! Participant(s) must be accompanied by a registered adult. Skate walkers are available for those who need assistance skating. This event will also feature a DJ for your enjoyment. 3v3 basketball

Register for 3v3 Basketball

The 3v3 Youth Summer Basketball Basketball League is a youth basketball program designed for rising 4th – 12th graders. This 8-week program runs from mid-June to early Aug. Registration closes on May 4!  Click here to sign up.

Family Art Lab at Home: May Edition

In honor of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, Family Art Lab is offering this fun paint along opportunity! Register for your Yayoi Kusama Box today and paint along to create your own artwork inspired by her A Flower with Nets image! Boxes will be available for pick up at the front desk at Fairlington Community Center from 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. May 12-16. Staff will contact you with more information before pick up. $20 per box.

Family Campfires 

The whole family is invited to join us for lots of old-fashioned fun. These engaging programs will be filled with entertaining activities which may include stories, special animal guests, games, songs and of course, S’mores. (We will provide the marshmallows, chocolate & graham crackers). $6.

Join the Teen Network Board!

The Teen Network Board (TNB) is a County & school board-appointed teen advocacy group comprised of high school and home school students, from different backgrounds and parts of the county. They provide community voice and service for Arlington youth, families, and wider community. We discuss issues, make recommendations, and act to improve the lives of Arlington teens. TNB meets the 1st and 3rd Tues. of the month during the school year from 6:30-8 p.m. Apply here!

Parks & Recreation classes, camps, fitness memberships, preschools, programs and more are at a price you can afford! Our fee reduction program helps Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day! Access for All. Whether you have a short-term set back or something longer term, we're here to help.

 

Additionally, all Parks & Recreation programs, classes and camps can put modifications in place to promote an enjoyable and successful program experience for participants of all abilities. Advance notice is welcome. Call 703-228-4740 or email trinfo@arlingtonva.us.

 

Stop by our office at Lubber Run Community Center on select Saturdays to get help with registration, create an account, get login information, renew or apply for fee reductions, drop off registration forms, set up payment plans and more. The DPR Administrative Services Office at Lubber Run Community Center also has extended after hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 –7 p.m. for in-person assistance.
