Pichai’s day in court: Alphabet Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai told a judge that the Justice Department’s proposal for Google to share search data with rivals would be tantamount to spinning off the search business.

Layoffs at EA: Game developer Electronic Arts has cut 300 to 400 jobs and is canceling a game in its Titanfall franchise.

SoftBank led a $108 million funding round for Cast AI, a startup that says it can help businesses reduce their cloud computing costs. The company is now valued at $850 million, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Snowflake Chief Information Security Officer Brad Jones and his team learned several lessons from last year’s large-scale cyberattack against the data software company’s customers, he tells Lynn Doan in this week’s Cyber Bulletin.
