FCCPTA Senior Scholarship Awards Deadline TODAY - 11:59 PM, May 1, 2025
Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) is proud to offer $500 FCCPTA Senior Scholarship Awards up to 10 graduating Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) high school students who are members of an active PTSA in good standing as of December 1, 2024. Scholarships are awarded based on provided academic info, letter of recommendation (optional), student statement, and on a demonstrated commitment to, and engagement in, community service. The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on proceeds from various scholarship fundraising activities.
Scholarship Recipients will be recognized at the FCCPTA General Membership Meeting held in-person on May 28, 2025, 6:40 PM, FCPS Gatehouse Center Cafe.
FCCPTA is offering $500 scholarships in four categories:
Academic: Students enrolled in a four-year, state-approved academic degree program.
Technical: Students enrolled in a two or three year approved technical, vocational, or associate degree program.
Fine Arts: Students enrolled in a school of arts, college of design or institute of the arts degree program.
Special Education: Special education students (identified with a current Individual Education Plan-IEP) entering approved technical, vocational, associate degree or a four-year academic program.
Applicant Eligibility
Student must be a PTSA Member and meet the following eligibility:
- Graduate from a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) high school that has an active PTSA in good standing with Virginia PTA and FCCPTA as of December 1, 2024;
- Be eligible for one of the four categories and be accepted for fall admission to higher education program (only one category per student);
- Complete online application to include student statement.
The completed application packet must include the following submitted via email to awards@fccpta.org:
- One (1) letter of recommendation of which one speaks to volunteer service (Optional, but will be considered in final selections)
- Transcript (including SAT/ACT scores, if available); Include cumulative GPA
- Proof of student's PTSA membership (by December 1, 2024)
