The 5K Committee wants to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined the Wolftrap 5K & Fun Run. There were over 650 participants! A special thank you to our sponsors and volunteers — we couldn’t have done it without you.

During spring break, the school took significant steps to enhance the safety and security of its premises. A series of security cameras were installed around the exterior of the school by FCPS, covering key areas such as entrances, exits, and parking lots.
The decision to install these cameras was driven by the school's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors; as well as parent requests for added safety. The new surveillance system is expected to deter potential vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security concerns. Additionally, the cameras will provide valuable footage that can be reviewed in case of any incidents, helping to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
This important security upgrade was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Their support underscores the community's dedication to the well-being and safety of everyone at the school.
The school administration is confident that these measures will contribute to a safer and more secure campus, fostering peace of mind for everyone involved.
Thank you to all those that continue to support the PTA; your support allowed the school to install cameras well before they even made it on the list.
The Wolftrap PTA's Artist in the Making program will have its final project of the year in May. For grades K-5, the artist is Helen Frankenthaler, a 20th century American painter who experimented with color and invented new painting techniques. The training session for classroom volunteers will be held on May 8th from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Wolftrap cafeteria. Hope to see you there!
At our last PTA meeting, we voted to increase the PTA Board to five positions by adding a second Vice President. We have now opened nominations for three positions that will be open on July 1st for the 2025-26 school year:
Vice President #1
Vice President #2
Treasurer
Each position serves a 2-year term, so you must have 2 years remaining at Wolftrap.
General time commitment:
- Monthly meeting with Board members.
- Monthly meeting with Board and Administration.
- Attend PTA meetings.
- Other miscellaneous duties, including supporting committee chairs, coordinating fundraising efforts, and other ad hoc support as needed.
Interested? Please let us know which position you’re interested in. You can reach out to Laura Morrow on the Nominating Committee at mrslauramorrow@gmail.com, or any current board member. We are happy to answer any questions!
