WATCH LIVE: Niall Ferguson and Dexter Filkins: The Iran-Israel War Join The Free Press tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. ET for a full briefing on the war between Israel and Iran, what comes next, and how it fits into the larger conflict with China and Russia.
Israel is now in its third day of war with Iran. Iran has fired nearly 300 ballistic missiles at civilian Israeli areas—at least 10 people have been killed and hundreds are injured, with many more still missing beneath the rubble. In Iran, oil fields are ablaze, and critical military and nuclear sites have been struck. As we send this announcement— Trump tells ABC that the U.S. may intervene. The big questions: Can the West win this war—and dismantle Iran’s nuclear program? Can Israel do it on its own? Will it need direct U.S. support? How is the internal fight inside the White House over American involvement shaping the response? How does this conflict fit into the broader struggle with China and Russia? And more fundamentally, how did we get here? Join Bari Weiss, Free Press columnist Niall Ferguson—who just wrote in our pages: “Israel’s Attack Restores the Credibility of the West”—and veteran international correspondent Dexter Filkins for an in-depth look at the war between Israel and Iran, what’s unfolding on the ground, and what it means for the region and the world. They’ll also be taking your questions. Live at 11:30 a.m. ET. Watch here or on our homepage. This livestream is available to paying subscribers only.
