Principal's Message
What a wonderful last two weeks of school! We celebrated our growth and closed out with fabulous activities such as 3rd grade Cities, the final Chester Corner Store, The Mori's (music production celebration of learning), Strings recruitment concert, Brain Show, Field Day, class parties and a special evening promotion for our sixth grade students. It was a fun-filled, packed and meaningful ending to the school year.
I want to thank our PE teachers, Jay Levesque and Carsyn Quackenbush, for planning an incredible field day on June 6th. Thank you to our specialists and teachers for their support of the games and to our parent volunteers for help with the water and ice pops station which was well received on such a hot day.

At our FCPS awards gala, it was my pleasure to support our Region 2, New Teacher of the year winner, Mr. Brandon Morris. While he did not win the county award, his work at Chesterbrook has made a huge impact on our students through the General Music, Chorus and Musical Theatre programs. Thank you Mr. Morris for the creativity and inspiration you bring to our students. |
As we closed out our last day with a clap-out for our sixth grade students, I was honored to lead them along with retiree, Mrs. Chih Wang, Instructional Assistant. Mrs. Wang has been with FCPS for 20 years, most at Chesterbrook, and has been a tremendous support of our students over the years. She will be greatly missed.
I wish you all a wonderful, safe and celebratory summer break. We look forward to seeing you and your children in the 2025-26 school year!
Sincerely,
Stacy Kirkpatrick

Budget Updates
In our closing PTA meeting, Principal Kirkpatrick updated the PTA regarding the budget for next school year. All schools received budget cuts in staffing for the upcoming year. With these cuts our class numbers will remain under any caps. Additionally, we are retaining a full time Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Amy Vallath, and Special Education Department Chair, Katelyn Gurgiolo, to support the work we do in supporting all students.
The overall number of students in classes will be based on the total in the grade for the new year. We retained all of our current teachers and anticipate the following number of classes for the new year:
Kindergarten- 3 classes | 1st Grade - 3 classes | 2nd Grade - 4 classes 3rd Grade - 3 classes | 4th Grade - 3 classes | 5th Grade - 3 classes
The PTA fundraisers and support has always been essential to supporting our budget and will continue to be a necessity in the upcoming year. PTA funds support teachers in providing additional classroom supplies. The budget extends our ability to provide items to support students such as paper, laptop carts, maintenance of our courtyards for learning and lunch spaces, staff spirit wear, luncheons, and recess equipment. Your financial support through our PTA and volunteer work is appreciated and adds to the work we can do.
