A pensioner has described her heartbreak of seeing her house turned into a "war zone" after a massive fire. Jane Moore, 70, was volunteering at a charity shop when her home of 28 years went up in flames. The mum-of-six had recently cancelled her house insurance due to her financial situation. Jane, 70, is now trying to refurbish the house with the help of the community. She will need to replace blown-out windows, her kitchen and bedroom, as well as other structural repairs. Jane from Margate in Kent says: “The blackness in the house was just unbelievable. I think it was like a war zone. I did not know what I was going to do, how I was gonna start. I felt broken. I felt everything was destroyed. I’ve still got a mortgage. That’s all I could think about.” |
