Hantek DPO7000 Series Digital Storage Oscilloscope | Observe the charging and discharging characteristics of capacitors

Through an intuitive experiment, a oscilloscope was used to capture the complete process of capacitor charging and discharging in real time.

Experiment configuration:

Electrolytic capacitor (470 μF)

Dual resistance (1.5KΩ)

Oscilloscope probe directly connected to capacitor

Direct current regulated power supply

Capacitor connected to the oscilloscope, powered by a 12V DC supply.

Charging phase: Voltage starts fast and then rises slowly (waveform steeply → gradually → level)

Discharge stage: Voltage starts fast and then slowly returns to zero (mirror descent curve)

If we continuously charge and discharge, it can form a simple oscillation. In actual circuits, we can add transistors to control the charging and discharging of capacitors.
