That's according to the latest findings from UCLA's Center for Scholars and Storytellers department. It issued its annual Teens and Screens report, which our Kayla Cobb wrote about today, and some of the findings are surprising. A key stat: 57% of the 1,500 10-to-24-year-old participants said they watched traditional media more than older generations think they do. A majority — 53% — said they also discuss shows and movies with their friends over social media (18.6%). The numbers offer a ray of sunshine to an embattled entertainment industry often fretting about the fragmentation of media and whether user-generated content swallows everything up. After all, study after study shows YouTube remains the top source of video, and younger generations are spending a large amount of time on TikTok.
