Today… I want to share with you a story of the craziest thing I did when I was 6 years old. When I was in kindergarten… There’s this boy, called James (not his real name), who had a new pack of chewing gum. (By the way, chewing gum is banned in Singapore. So it's rarer than my wife admitting I was right about something.) Clearly, I wanted that pack of chewing gum because I’d never tasted it in my life. The problem is, James hates my ass because I’m the troublemaker in school. At the same time, he likes a girl named Michelle (not her real name) and wanted to give her the chewing gum. What’s interesting is this… I suspect Michelle has a thing for me, which you’ll see why shortly. So anyway… James gave Michelle the pack of chewing gum—and she ate it (or chewed, whatever). Now the greedy me still wants that piece of chewing gum because I’ve never tried it in my life! It’s a rare commodity, yo! So, I convinced Michelle to give me her “used” chewing gum—and she said yes. (See? Told you she had a thing for me.) But here's the problem… James is watching us like a hawk, making sure I don't get up to any funny business. So, I had an idea… I told Michelle this… “When James isn’t looking at us, we have this small window of opportunity.” “I’ll quickly press my lips against yours.” “Then I’ll open up my mouth and you spit the chewing gum into my mouth.” Boom! The perfect heist! That’s what we attempted to do… But halfway through the “operation”… I realised getting the chewing gum while our lips are pressed together is harder than explaining to my parents why I have detention again. So clever Michelle improvised… She sticks the chewing gum out of her mouth, and I "rescued" it faster than you can say "Mission Impossible." Do you know what the best part is? James was completely clueless! I felt victorious, like I won gold for the Olympics! So, the lesson I learned is this… Sometimes in life, there’s a small window of opportunity for you to act. If it’s missed, then it could be gone forever (like how I almost didn’t get a chance to And speaking of opportunity… You have a few days to join my upcoming Mean Reversion Trading Masterclass. That chewing gum was terrible. Turns out, used gum loses its flavour faster than my enthusiasm for doing homework. But hey, at least I got the experience! |
