Jaguar Pantry Update
Saturday, October 25th is the next Food For Neighbors Pick Up Day. Please have your bag out by 8:30am
THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up to be a Food For Neighbors Red Bag Donor! For this Saturday's pick up day, these are the items we most need for the pantry at this time: individual boxes of milk (plain and flavored), fruit juice boxes, granola bars, cereal cups, crackers, fruit cups, cup noodles (extra points from the kids for Maruchan brand), tuna/chicken snacks (not flavored), small pouches of tuna or chicken, chickpea snacks, travel size deodorant, bar soap. Our students DO NOT choose: Mac n cheese, oatmeal, microwave meals, peanut butter or soup.

If you have worked with an outstanding employee at Falls Church HS, FCPS wants your help recognizing them for their day-to-day efforts in supporting our students, staff and FCPS initiatives.

FCHS Graduation Date/Time Change
Senior parents: Update your calendars!
FCHS graduation date and time has been moved to Wednesday, June 3rd at 9 a.m.
Underclassman Photos are Ready!
If your student is in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade and had their school picture taken in September, you may not have received the email from Legacy Studios about how to access their photo online. Sometimes these get routed to a spam folder and don’t get through.

Advocacy Update: VDOE votes on elevated academic expectations
In September 2025, the Virginia Board of Education unanimously approved a set of elevated academic expectations for K-12 students, specifically increasing SOL passing scores in reading and math. FCPS's reading and math current average pass rate is 79% - but under the new scores, average pass rate could be 52%. Higher SOL scores will impact all students, especially our most vulnerable students who need additional support.
VDOE votes on the Board’s multi-year phase-in implementation plan during its business meeting on October 23, 2025.

Oct. 6 Community Meeting Recap
We truly appreciate everyone who joined the community meeting on Monday evening, Oct. 6. It was wonderful to see 100+ people taking time to show up and advocate on behalf of our students!
