Atoms Winter Weekly Recap
Boys Basketball had three games in their first week of the 25-26 season. The Atoms started off with a dominating win on Tuesday over Fairfax Trinity. The Atoms scored in bunches on their way to a 30 point win. Next was a date with Fairfax Home School. The result was different this time as the Hawks got up early on the Atoms, leading by as many as 20 in third quarter. The Atoms didn't make it easy on the Hawks as they cut the lead to seven points with under two minutes to play but couldn't complete the comeback. Friday evening, was a short trip to Lake Braddock for a non-district game vs the Bruins. The Atoms held a two point advantage at the half before a back and forth second half, saw the Bruins pull away to send the Atoms home with a loss. The Atoms return home Tuesday evening vs Fairfax.
Girls Basketball started their season with Fairfax Home School and Lake Braddock in week one. On Thursday, the Atoms welcomed the Hawks to campus to open their season. The Hawks got up early and kept it that way as they cruised to a win over the Atoms. The Atoms played hard but couldn't overcome the Hawks. Next up, was a second home game vs Lake Braddock. The Atoms were up early and kept it tight for a while before the Bruins pulled away to get the non-district road win. The Atoms take a trip to Fairfax Tuesday evening.
Gymnastics had their first meet at West Springfield Wednesday evening. The Atoms have been working hard over the first few weeks of the winter season and it showed on the mat as the Atoms came away with a second place team finish to start the season. The Atoms tumble back on the mat Wednesday at Robinson.
Indoor Track laced up their shoes for their first meet of the season at TJ Middle School in Arlington. The Atoms used this meet an as opportunity to work on conditioning and getting their legs under them for the season. The Atoms had some great performances and showing from several athletes as they look to have some individuals make deep postseason showings.
Swim & Dive unfortunately had their meet canceled due to potential weather. They get back in the pool Friday at Audrey Moore.
Wrestling kicks off their season today with the boys at Park View and the girls at Herndon. The JV wrestlers got their grappling opportunity Monday at South County and the Atoms had several wrestlers get a win to get the wrestling season off to a great start.

Atoms Boosters Concession Stand Help
Attention Parents! Volunteers are needed to sell concessions at games throughout the year. We welcome any and all parents to volunteer but when parents of a particular sport work a game, a portion of concessions sales directly benefit that team. If you are not able to help directly at home games, there are many ways you can get involved with the Atoms Athletics Boosters by attending our monthly meetings or being a team liaison. Thank you for your support for Atom’s Athletics!
For questions about concession stand sign ups, contact Lissette Puna.
