Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
If you like to take the road less traveled, you’re in luck. The Points Guy’s latest trend forecast shows that travelers will be prioritizing underrated destinations, ditching overcrowded and overhyped locations, and trading normal hotel stays for nature-focused experiences. Airlines and hotels are already responding to this trend—with flights expanded to lesser-known locales and cabins, Airstreams, and safaris turning into lodging opportunities.
The shift isn’t only on where we go, but how we travel, too. Since economic uncertainty is still at a high, travel budgets are focused on maximizing value. That can translate to off-season travel, closer destinations, and accommodation that is less about luxury and more about comfort. On the subject of luxury, more travelers are deciding to entirely forego more luxe experiences in favor of making memories on a budget.
