Sometimes a vacation is a learning experience, not just a getaway. Such was the case for our travel writer who went on a 17-day Northwest Passage voyage over the summer. Traveling with a 36-member expedition crew of nine Inuit cultural educators and more than two dozen scientific, cultural and social sciences experts, the trip was a blend of learning and doing: watching house-sized icebergs, sampling cornerstones of the Inuit diet, and witnessing the devastating effect of warming temperatures on wildlife.
