How to Look Chic (and Not Chilly!) When It’s -15ºC |
|
After a move to the country, one writer offers advice for how she stayed stylish in snowier-than-usual conditions |
|
By Jennifer Berry |
I’ve recently traded Toronto city life for a more rural existence two hours north in Wasaga Beach, where our house sits inside the borders of something called the “Georgian snow belt.” Every day since around October 15th, there’s been a menacing “snow squall” or “lake effect” warning in the weather app, and don’t even get me started on “bomb cyclones.” (Sinister!) I don’t fear snow, but I do fear losing my sense of cuteness as I layer up to combat the elements.
So, I set out to find some chic yet practical items that suit my new ex-urban lifestyle which now includes more “fetching firewood” and less “fire ‘fits.” Consider this a rural winter outfit ideas starter pack for the fashionably inclined.
