On November 28, 2025, Nevada submitted a request for an amendment to the approved demonstration entitled "Nevada's Treatment of Opioid Use Disorders (OUDs) and Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) Transformation Project." Nevada proposes to establish a mandatory specialty managed care delivery system through other authorities for children in the care and custody of the state, those receiving adoption subsidy assistance, and other children and youth who meet defined behavioral health clinical criteria, in line with the requirements of a January 2025 settlement with the Department of Justice. This amendment aims to narrow the managed care delivery system to a single managed care plan. The state's goal is to provide quality, comprehensive, and family-integrated care to eligible children and youth and reduce institutional placements. The federal public comment period will be open from December 12, 2025 through January 11, 2026.
