‘Every Day Counts: Start Where You Are. Use What You Have. Do What You Can’ by David PollackPollack, an ESPN college football analyst and former pro player, outlines how he’s used unexpected setbacks to “make the most of the time the Lord has afforded me.” After just two seasons playing in the NFL, a routine tackle left him with two fractured vertebrae, forcing him to “slow down enough to listen to God.” He came to view the setback as an opportunity from God to pivot to becoming a sportscaster. And his lessons on recovering from injury are both encouraging and appealingly matter-of-fact. Sports fans will get a lot out of this solid guide to shoring up one’s resilience through faith.
