Hi Jan,

Episode 212 of our Retire With Style podcast is out now!
Before diving in, a quick note: this week’s episode includes some technical audio issues that affect portions of the recording. While we’ve done our best to improve the sound quality, a few disruptions may remain. For clarity, full transcripts and closed captions are available and linked on the episode page.

This week on Retire With Style, Alex and I are kicking off a new multi-episode series built around the fully revised Third Edition of the Retirement Planning Guidebook. Rather than treating it as just a book announcement, we wanted to use the podcast to walk through the ideas, frameworks, and decisions that really shape a retirement plan.

In this first episode, we start with the foundation: retirement income styles. There isn’t a single “right” way to fund retirement, and understanding how your preferences, comfort with risk, and decision-making tendencies fit into different approaches is critical. From there, we talk about why efficiency matters so much in retirement planning, where the biggest opportunities tend to show up, and how retirees face a different set of risks once paychecks stop and distributions begin.

If you’re approaching retirement or already there, this episode is meant to help you step back and think more clearly about how all the pieces fit together, and why the early decisions matter more than most people realize. Listen now to learn more!
