When Allison Evans launched Branch Basics, it wasn’t about becoming the next clean living pioneer—she just wanted to feel better. Having struggled for years with chronic pain, PCOS, and more health symptoms that traditional treatments weren’t solving, she became her own wellness warrior. 


Through research and practice, Allison began removing toxins from her home, food, and environment, finding that the results were healing. As the co-founder of Branch Basics, she’s on a mission to make healthy living feel simple, not stressful—something she believes in fully for herself and her three children. 


In our conversation, Allusion shared how one small change snowballed into a life-changing lifestyle—and why your cleaning cabinet might be the best place to start.


Tell us about how you began removing toxins from your life.

My journey really started out of necessity. I was dealing with chronic pain and a series of unexplained health issues, and despite doing “all the right things,” I wasn’t getting better. It forced me to zoom out and take a broader look at my environment—what I was eating, how I was breathing, and what I was using in my home every single day.


Once I realized how many chemicals we unknowingly interact with [daily], especially in common household products like cleaning supplies, it became clear to me that reducing my toxic load wasn’t about perfection, but rather about giving my body a chance to heal.


You’ve overcome chronic pain, PCOS, mold exposure, and more—what were some of the first shifts that made a noticeable difference for you?

One of the biggest early shifts was simplifying—removing obvious irritants and focusing on what my body could tolerate and thrive with. Cleaning up my home environment and diet were extremely impactful to my health, and I noticed an almost immediate shift when I removed the most toxic offenders (pesticides and synthetically fragranced products). Swapping out conventional cleaners for truly human-safe alternatives reduced my daily exposure to chemicals that were constantly stressing my system. Pairing that with foundational wellness habits like nourishing food, nervous system support, and addressing mold exposure helped my body experience healing breakthroughs. 


What was the moment you realized your mission was bigger than just your story?
