December Was a Busy and Impactful Month

Our annual Gary Clause events in Fairmont Gardens and Culmore served more than 1,700 community members, spreading holiday cheer and support to families across the district.

We also hosted Heroes and Helpers at Target, where 29 children received $100 each to shop alongside a police officer, creating meaningful connections and memorable experiences.

In addition, our partnership with the Baileys Rotary Club through Shop with a Rotarian allowed us to purchase additional toys in support of Gary Clause, further extending the reach of our holiday giving.

Community Updates

Pajama and Slipper Drive

Help the Mason District Police Station bring warmth and comfort to community members in need this winter. We are collecting new pajamas and slippers for babies, children, teens, and adults now through January 26, 2026.

Community Advisory Council (CAC) Meetings

Our Community Advisory Council (CAC) meets monthly at the Mason District Police Station (and sometimes in locations in the community), 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003.

Meetings begin at 7:00 PM and provide opportunities to:

• Receive Mason District crime and safety updates

• Learn about police initiatives and resources

• Share concerns and collaborate with station leadership

All community members are welcome.

Business Watch, Neighborhood Watch & Police & Faith Meetings

The Mason District Police Station offers ongoing partnership meetings to strengthen communication, prevention, and preparedness across our community.

These include:

• Business Watch Meetings – Quarterly at 3:30 PM

• Neighborhood Watch Training – Evening sessions at 7:00 PM

• Police & Faith Meetings – Afternoon sessions at 3:00 PM

These meetings allow residents, businesses, and faith leaders to stay informed, work together, and build a safer community.

Word of Life Church located in Springfield recently launched a Resource Center on their church premises, it provides free clothing, shoes, and essential accessories to those in need. Referrals for families may be made through this link: https://www.wolag.org/hope-center.

Winter Weather Safety Reminder

With significant snowfall expected this weekend, we encourage residents to prepare ahead of time and avoid unnecessary travel.

If possible, stay off the roads, stock up on essential supplies, and ensure your vehicle is winter-ready with a full tank of gas, ice scraper, and emergency kit.

Check on neighbors who may need assistance, dress warmly, and use caution when shoveling to prevent injury. Staying prepared helps keep you, your family, and first responders safe.
