Dear Kent Gardens Families,
We are so excited to welcome Carole Boston Weatherford and her son, Jeffery Boston Weatherford, a celebrated author-illustrator mother-son duo known for their award-winning children's books like Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People To Freedom, How Do You Spell "Unfair"?, and Rap It Up, to Kent Gardens! Carole and Jeffery are known for blending art, history, poetry, and hip-hop to tell important stories, often focusing on African American history and family legacies.
They will be talking to students in ALL GRADES on Tuesday, March 3rd.
Mrs. Hershey is organizing a pre-order of their most popular books so that your student can have them signed during their visit. These ORDER FORMS ARE DUE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH. A copy of the order form is attached below, but paper copies can also be picked up in the Kent Gardens library.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students! A huge thank you to Mrs. Hershey and our Kent Gardens staff for making it possible.
