Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder who was among the FBI’s most-wanted fugitives and faces charges related to drug trafficking and the killing of a federal witnesses, has been arrested, according to authorities.

Mr. Wedding was arrested Friday, according to two people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to discuss details of the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

The arrest is expected to be announced later Friday morning at a news conference with U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations Director Kash Patel in California. Mr. Wedding was apprehended in Mexico, one of the officials said.

The RCMP has been intermittently investigating Mr. Wedding since at least 2006. It issued an arrest warrant in 2015, but has not laid more recent charges against him.
