Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Prospective Payment system (PPS) and Updates to the Quality Reporting Program (QRP) for FY 2027 (CMS-1845-P)

On April 2, 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule (CMS-1845-P) that provides updates to the fiscal years (FYs) 2027 and 2029 Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Quality Reporting Program (IRF QRP). In this proposed rule, CMS is proposing to revise the IRF QRP Data Submission Deadlines beginning with the FY 2029 IRF QRP. CMS is also soliciting public comments through one Request for Information (RFI) on future measure concepts for the IRF QRP.
