Logan Airport travelers might have been exposed to measles, health officials warn |
Travelers at Boston Logan International Airport earlier this month might have been exposed to measles, health officials warned Wednesday. The Boston Public Health Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health said in a press release that a person with measles visited Terminal C at Logan Airport shortly after midnight on Tuesday, April 14. The person traveled to Boston on JetBlue Airways flight 470, which departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at 8:54 p.m. on Monday, April 13. Health officials said they are working with local partners to identify and notify anyone who might have been exposed. Any unvaccinated individuals who have been exposed are urged to contact their healthcare provider immediately. Unvaccinated exposed individuals also need to avoid public places like school, work, public transit and stores and monitor for symptoms for 21 days, through May 5, 2026. |

| Warm and sunny weather on deck for Thursday, but things cool off for weekend |
Well, we made it back to the 60s. This will be the warmest day of the workweek, with plenty of sun and a steady northwest breeze. There is a slim chance we see the sea breeze return to the South Shore and Cape Ann toward evening as the winds ease, but at that point, we will have hit the high for the day and started cooling off anyway. Friday is another bright day, but this time around, the sea breezes will be more established in the afternoon. We should only make the mid-50s at the coast, but just inland, highs will again hit 60 In most places. Saturday is all about the northeast wind, so everyone takes a step back with temperatures. We’re also watching an approaching weather system that will try to push rain into New England late at night and early Sunday morning. |

Much of the MBTA’s Green Line B Branch will have trolley service replaced by shuttles beginning Wednesday and lasting through the end of the month, as crews tackle a number of upgrades on the aging transit line. The nine-day service suspension is in effect from Kenmore to Boston College, and will extend to Copley on Saturday and Sunday. The shuttle buses replacing service are free and accessible, the MBTA said in its announcement. They will not stop, however, at Griggs Street, Allston Street and Packard’s Corner. |

What to know about Massachusetts' new boater safety requirements |
Boaters in Massachusetts must now receive safety certification. The Hanson-Milone Act requires people born after Jan. 1, 1989, to complete a safety course to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft after April 1 of this year. Anyone older must be certified by April 1, 2028. “As we have rules for motor vehicle operation, we have rules for now operating a motorboat on the commonwealth’s waterways,” said Massachusetts Environmental Police Sgt. Matthew Nardi. |

History comes back to life: Gearing up for the 250th Battle of Gloucester |
This summer, a quiet seaside park on Massachusetts’ North Shore will become a scene right out of the Revolutionary War, complete with soldiers, ships, and cannons. A baseball field will become a small village. Schooners will anchor just offshore, and behind the beach will be hundreds of tents for soldiers, turning Gloucester’s Stage Fort Park into a living history lesson. The tranquil view of Gloucester Harbor will soon look like a revolutionary war zone. Last year, the Battle of Bunker Hill was recreated at Stage Fort Park, and this June, it will step back in time once again for the reenactment of the Battle of Gloucester. NBCUniversal Local Boston is the official media partner and will provide live coverage. |
