Today: the boots our style expert can’t stop rebuying. Plus…
All-season boots that go with everything |
 |
| NYT Wirecutter |
Style expert Alexander Aciman bought his first pair of desert boots when he was 19 years old. “Now, on my eighth pair, even with an embarrassing number of shoes at my disposal,” he writes, “I am still just as charmed by my boots as I was 16 years ago.”
The shoe is simple: a suede ankle boot with two eyelets and a rubber sole. They feel adult and polished, while also being easygoing with a boyish charm. On days when Alexander dislikes every item in his closet, he resorts to old reliable: a pair of dark blue jeans and his desert boots. It’s a combination, he says, that “makes me feel dashing when nothing else about me feels even remotely dashing.”
