Yeah I totally agree with you about the trail closure being a bummer. We went around it anyway and found this little hidden path that led to a really nice overlook. It added maybe an extra mile but totally worth it. Let me know if you want to check it out next weekend. I have been meaning to get more steps in anyway and that view would make for a great spot to bring coffee and just hang out for a bit. The weather should hold up too from what I saw on the forecast. Also I finally got around to patching that hole in the screen door so the flies should stop getting in. Let me know what you think about the hike.
I also finished that book you lent me last month. It started a little slow but by the middle I could not put it down. The way the author described the coastline made me want to book a trip immediately. Have you read anything else by the same writer? I might look into their earlier work if it is similar in style. The pasta dish you made last week was incredible. I tried to recreate it but my sauce ended up way too watery. I think I added the pasta water too quickly. Do you usually let it simmer longer to thicken it up? Anyway it was still good but yours was definitely better. Let me know if you have any tips for next time. I was thinking of trying a new recipe with shrimp and lemon this weekend if you want to swap notes. Also I finally cleaned out the garage like we talked about and found some old camping gear that is still in decent shape. Maybe we can plan a trip soon before the weather turns too cold. I heard from Jen that the farmers market is starting back up next week. I usually go on Saturdays but maybe we can go together one morning if you are free.
