The Liberty Ledger
Current Liberty students lined the halls to cheer on former Lions as they returned to celebrate their high school graduation with staff and students.
A Note from the Principal
As we wrap up another successful school year at Liberty, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for their partnership and support. Together, we accomplished so much, and I am proud of all that our Liberty community has achieved.
Although students and teachers are beginning their summer break, many of our staff will continue working hard throughout the summer to prepare for a strong opening and an even better year ahead. We are excited about the opportunities that await our students next year.
To our 8th graders, congratulations on this important milestone. We wish you the very best as you begin your high school journey and know you will continue to make us proud. To our rising 8th graders, we look forward to watching you grow as mentors, role models, and leaders who help make Liberty a welcoming and successful place for all students.
We will send periodic updates and communication throughout the summer with important information and reminders as we prepare for the start of the new school year.
Thank you for a wonderful year. We wish you a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer and look forward to welcoming students back to Liberty in August for another great year of learning, growth, and success.

Under a new Virginia cellphone law (SB108) and the updated FCPS Cellphone Policy, high school students at FCPS will no longer be able to use cellphones and other smart devices during lunch time, starting July 1. This includes watches that serve a dual purpose, such as smart watches, as well as earbuds, headsets, smart glasses, and other items connected to the internet.
During the school day, including during lunch time, high school students will have to keep cellphones and other smart devices off and stored in a locker, backpack, pouch, purse, etc. This policy does not apply to school-issued devices. Visit the FCPS Cellphone Policy webpage for more information.
Through June, you will receive your child’s spring assessment results. If you aren’t sure what assessments your child took this year, you can view a list of tests by grade level on the FCPS website.
Most scores are available in SIS ParentVUE. Visit FCPS’ website for additional information about how test results are reported to families.
Websites for each test provide report translations and help with understanding test results. Please contact our front office with any testing questions or for additional information about how our school and teachers use test results to support student success.
Families of all ages are invited to join the 3rd Annual Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt. This free community event takes you on a journey across the county.
