Plan Amendment SSPA 2023-I-1A (Gallows Road) – Staff Report
The following Staff Report has been posted on the Department of Planning and Development Website, Proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendments page:
SSPA 2023-I-1A: Gallows Road – On April 11, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized the consideration of a Plan amendment for Tax Map Parcels 59-2 ((11)) 29A, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35 to add an option for planned density of 3-4 dwelling units per acre (du/ac). On June 10, 2025, the Board of Supervisors expanded the study area, totaling 13 parcels, to include Tax Map Parcels 59-2 ((11)) 29A, 29B, 30-36, 41, 42, 43 and 43A, resulting in a total study area of approximately 8.11 acres. The properties are generally located on the south side of Gallows Road, approximately 600 feet east of the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495) in the Holmes Run Community Planning Sector of the Annandale Planning District, Mason Supervisor District. The subject property is currently planned for residential use at 1-2 (du/ac). The Board of Supervisors requested that staff consider adding an option for residential use at 3-4 du/ac.
