2026 SUMMER OFFICE HOURS Monday, June 22 - Friday, July 31 9:00am - 12:00pm |
Good afternoon Newington Forest Families,
Our last week of school was a short one but we sure packed in a lot of fun!
-
Schoolwide Picnic on the Field - To celebrate America's 250th year, with the help of Fairfax250, we held a picnic for all of our students on Monday. The weather was perfect for the occasion, and the students and families had a great time! Thank you to Ms. Howard, Parent Liaison, for organizing the event, Mr. Dickson, Building Supervisor, for being our fun DJ for the day, and all of our staff who were able to support the picnic.
-
"Is it Magic or Science?" Assemblies - 3rd and 4th grade students were treated to a special presentation by Joe Romano, who got our kids excited about science. Thank you Ms. Matthias, Instructional Coach, for finding this great program.
-
6th Grade Promotion Ceremony - Our 6th Graders went to Kings Dominion on Monday for their last field trip of the school year, and then Tuesday morning, they finished up their elementary school career with a Promotion Ceremony. We are all proud of this group of rising 7th graders and we wish them the very best in middle school!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents and families for your support and collaboration to make this school year a success for our Knights. Your partnership helps create a strong school community where students can learn, grow, and thrive. Together, we have celebrated achievements, overcome challenges, and created meaningful learning experiences for our children.
We wish you and your family a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer, and we look forward to welcoming our Knights for another wonderful school year in the fall.
Sincerely,
Angela Thompson Principal
