Notes from the Nest
From the Principals’ Desk
As we close another incredible school year at Springfield Estates, our hearts are full of gratitude. Thank you to our amazing students for bringing curiosity, perseverance, and joy to school each day. Thank you to our dedicated staff for the countless ways you inspire, support, and care for our Eagles. And thank you to our families for your partnership, trust, and unwavering support throughout the year. Together, we truly SOAR.
This year was filled with unforgettable moments that strengthened our school community. We celebrated Literacy Night, Math Night, Heritage Night, concerts, awards ceremonies, Family Coffees, Run Club, Green Team projects, the LambMowers visit, and the creation of our Serenity Garden and Outdoor Classroom. These experiences brought learning to life, celebrated the diversity and talents of our community, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
We also have so much to celebrate academically. Our students continued to demonstrate outstanding growth and achievement throughout the year. On our end-of-year screeners, the percentage of students meeting grade-level benchmark increased from 80.8% to 83.3% in reading and from 76.9% to 85.8% in math. Our third graders showed exceptional reading growth, increasing from 80.6% at the beginning of the year to 89.2% by the end of the year. Our SOL results are equally impressive, with Springfield Estates continuing to outperform division averages in reading, mathematics, and science while showing notable gains across multiple grade levels. These accomplishments reflect the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the incredible partnership of our families.
And to our incredible 6th graders, we are so proud of you. You have grown not only as learners but also as leaders, role models, and members of our school community. While we will miss seeing you in our hallways, we are excited for all that awaits you in middle school. Carry your SOAR values with you wherever you go. Continue to be Supportive, Optimistic, Accepting, and Responsible, and know that you will always be an Eagle.
As you head into summer, we hope you find time to relax, explore, make memories, and, of course, read a few great books along the way. Thank you for making this such a special year at SEES. It has been a privilege to watch our students learn, grow, and shine each day, and we are incredibly proud of all we have accomplished together.
Have a safe, joyful, and restful summer. We look forward to welcoming our returning Eagles back in August and wish our 6th graders every success as they begin their next adventure. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. |
