I’m about to release a new video interviewing a client of mine who went from $9k to $30k monthly in 30 days.

Yes.

The numbers are obviously cool.

(She’s even better than that now).

But we honestly didn’t spend much of the interview talking about that.

Instead, she kept saying things like this.

Warning. Chunky quote:

====

“I decided that the best way to served my mission was to not be working a W-2, and not be in the hospital, and not be doing any of that…

I read your stuff, I read a lot of stuff who were saying really smart things about the type of life that that can provide, meaning a life where you can think for yourself and sort of create a lifestyle.

But I was stuck in this learning phase. Like, I felt like there was more information that I needed, someone was going to, like, descend on my car, and like…tell me exactly how to do it, and, you know, not surprisingly, like, that never happened…

And I think what I learned was that nobody actually knows what to do next, and there is no real right answer, and and people would just put out offers, and they would do stuff.”

====

Summary if you skimmed:

  • She was working a job
  • She didn’t love it
  • She wanted out
  • But she thought she could “learn” her way out.

This is proof of how deep the corporate brainwashing goes.

Well.

It starts much earlier.

It starts in college.

Degrees are great in theory.

You follow a shiny, 4-year guide to any career. Sure. Makes logical sense. It should work.

But then…

But then the real world happens.

And it becomes clear that your parchment paper degree wobbles in the face of a 9-5 boss, recession, divorce, sickness, or redundancy, all ready to punch you in the face.

Then what?

Then you… well, you have to figure it out.

Society doesn’t teach you to figure it out.

They teach you to follow the rules, wait for instructions, follow the instructions well, and enjoy the rewards.

Again.

The plan sounds good.

Until you have to divide the rewards among 60 million people who all followed the same instructions and are now holding nothing more than empty promises and $100K in student loan debt.

Obviously a bit sad.

You’re conditioned to think if we have all the information you can make a decision.

But you either:

  • Don’t feel like you have enough information
  • Feel like you have TOO much information

At some point, we just have to make decisions.

It’s on YOU.

Not the boss.

Not the teacher.

Not your parents or spouse.

YOU.

So show a little courage on this Monday, ey?

And if you need a little more of a kick in the pants, head here.

Talk soon,

-Tim
