When I started working on my confidence, I was coming from a pretty low point.
I was a shy, young guy starting at a new company, and nobody really valued my perspective.
It’s not their fault…
It’s just what happens when you’re in your early twenties and trying to make a name for yourself.
But here’s the thing:
I had no choice but to take risks.
I threw myself into situations that terrified me, because, well, what was the worst that could happen? People would dismiss me?
They already were!
So, I spoke to strangers, pushed myself into uncomfortable social situations, and made an effort to connect with the higher-ups at my company…
And it worked.
Each time I faced my fears, my confidence grew.
I got better at talking to people and it didn’t feel scary after a while.
But then something I didn’t expect happened…
As I gained social status and power (people knew me from my YouTube channel) I started to feel like I had something to lose.
Suddenly, I was more hesitant to take risks.
I didn’t want to have the tough conversations…
I didn’t want to push myself anymore…
And honestly?
That created a massive hit to the confidence I’d worked so hard to develop.
It turns out, the moment you stop confronting your fears, you stop growing.
And even if things are going "great" your confidence will slowly erode.
So let me ask you this:
What fear have you been avoiding?
Take one small step today - something simple that pushes your limits a bit - and see how your confidence grows.
