Museums and galleries boost self-generated income but face risks to their finances

Our latest report looks at the overall financial resilience of the 15 DCMS-sponsored museums and galleries.

We found that these museums and galleries have managed rising costs, and used innovative and commercial approaches to increase their self-generated income.

But these institutions continue to face challenges. Museums and galleries will need to prioritise good financial management and planning so they can continue to preserve their collections and provide free access to these for the public.
