Amazing Bulldog Community--
We are excited to be able to support our Boys Basketball team as they compete for the State title for the first time in almost 10 years! We hope that many of you will be able to make it to VCU’s Siegel Center (1200 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23284) on Thursday. The tip-off is set for 2:30p. Please plan for I-95 traffic if you are coming to Richmond.
All media must be approved by the VHSL. Please contact Mike McCall, Director of Communications, at mmccall@vhsl.org to submit credential requests.
Gates will open at 11:30 am for the Class 6 Girls final.
PRE-SALE TICKETS
Since this is a VHSL State event, ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE. All tickets are $12.00 each ($10 ticket and $2.00 fee) and must be purchased online through the VCU Box Office. Children 6 and under get in free with a paying adult.
The link to purchase tickets can be found HERE.
For safety reasons, you may not leave and re-enter the event.
For those that cannot make the game, you can watch the game on the NFHS Network. Click on this LINK to view. You will need to have a subscription to stream the game.
STUDENT BUS TO GAME
The school has agreed to provide a charter bus at no charge to our students in good standing to attend the game. All students that are interested in this opportunity, must complete the Field Trip form and return it to the Activities Office. We must have at least 30 students interested in going by Tuesday afternoon. If you are interested in taking the pep bus with your peers, please complete this google form. South Lakes had 2 busses of students last year! Let’s hope we have the same enthusiasm!
All students must have their field trip forms returned by Wednesday at 1:30p
Proof of purchasing a ticket will be required before boarding the bus. Students, with parental permission will be released from school after fourth period to depart for the game. They will return immediately after the game. We might also need some parent chaperones.
Tentative Timeline:
11:30 - depart from Westfield
1:30 - arrive at VCU. Students can purchase lunch at the Seigel Center or bring their own lunch
2:30 - game
6:30 - return to Westfield
Please reach out to the Activities Office if you have any questions. Again, thank you all for your continued support. Let’s show the commonwealth on Thursday how great our community is!
