 Dear Wolftrap Families,
At the heart of the Madison Pyramid is the belief that our schools and our neighborhood are "Our Shared Home." To bring this theme to life, we are proud to announce the Madison Pyramid Day of Service taking place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
This day is designed to move learning beyond the classroom walls. Through hands-on service, our students will develop a deeper understanding of their roles as Ethical and Global Citizens. We want our students to graduate knowing that they have the power to strengthen their community through intentional, compassionate action.
Each school within the Madison Pyramid will participate in unique ways tailored to the age and interests of our students. At Wolftrap, each classroom will be participating in a unique service project for that grade level. We will be working on these projects during the first hour of the day.
How You Can Help: To make these service projects possible, we are seeking donations for the supplies our students will use to serve others. If you would like to contribute, please visit our school’s specific Amazon Wish List below. All items will be shipped directly to the school and used for our Day of Service projects.
**You can find our wishlists on the Wolftrap website, linked here. We look forward to sharing more details and specific schedules as we get closer to the date. Thank you for partnering with us to help our students grow into community-minded leaders.
Dr. Maggie Grove, Principal and my Madison pyramid principal colleagues
Ms. Megan Tipton, Assistant Principal

Rooted in Resilience, Echoes of Excellence: FCPS’ Second Annual Black History Month CelebrationI was honored to attend this program at Woodson High School. I hope that we can fill the auditorium next year with friends from the Wolftrap community. The spirit of heritage and the promise of the future filled the air at Carter G. Woodson High School as FCPS held its second annual Black History Month Celebration with the theme, Rooted in Resilience: Echoes of Excellence. This year’s event was especially significant as it coincided with the 100th anniversary of the movement that became Black History Month.
Students from across the division took center stage as the true "echoes" of this excellence. The program featured student-led Moments of Pride that connected local and national history to contemporary achievements. Vernon Walton, senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of Vienna, delivered a spirited keynote speech. Another highlight of the night was the FCPS Black Excellence video tribute. Read more about the Black history event.
