Dear Cherry Run Families,
We are excited to announce that Mr. David Arthur will be joining us as Acting Assistant Principal. Mr. Arthur is joining us from Thomas Jefferson High School (read more about Mr. Arthur below).

From Mr. Arthur: I am a lifelong Fairfax County resident and a proud graduate of Hayfield Secondary School. My entire professional career has been rooted in FCPS, beginning at the elementary level and growing through a wide range of leadership roles. The only time I stepped away from the county was for a five‑year assignment in Germany, where my family and I lived while I taught at Würzburg American High School for the Department of Defense.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to serve in numerous leadership positions, including department chair, division leader, Acting Elementary Assistant Principal, and Acting Director of Student Activities. I am currently a Resource Teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, where I serve as the SGA and NHS sponsor and teach four classes.
I continued my own education locally as well, earning Master’s degrees in both Education and Administration from George Mason University and the University of Virginia.
My wife and I are proud parents and recent 'empty nesters.' Our children, both graduates of Lake Braddock, are beginning the next chapters of their lives: our daughter is pursuing veterinary medicine at Colorado State University, and our son is studying at the London School of Economics. While we miss having them at home, we enjoy watching them pursue their passions..
I’m truly looking forward to supporting the Cherry Run community and getting to know everyone over the next few weeks.
