Oil prices surged above US$100 a barrel on Sunday, the first time since 2022, as the war in the Middle East takes a toll on energy supplies.
The price of gasoline in the Montreal area jumped Monday morning to as high as $1.75 per litre, marking the highest level since the summer of 2024.
