Beware of New Email Phishing Scam
Please be advised that the City of Fairfax has become aware of email phishing attempts. The scammers impersonate city staff and request additional fee payments for land development applications. These messages may contain detailed information pulled from public records, including the type and location of the application, and may indicate that an approval is pending contingent on the wiring of an additional fee.
The City of Fairfax will never send messages of this nature. Should you receive an email or any other communication that you feel may not be legitimate, please contact the Department of Community Development & Planning at 703-385-7820 to verify the communication or the City of Fairfax Police Department at 703-385-7924.
