Family Engagement Survey

Opened March 9th

FCPS is administering our Family Engagement Survey, which will be open from Monday, March 9, to Monday, March 23. Your feedback is critical in helping us to better recognize, understand, respect, and address family strengths and needs in our schools. 

Survey topics include:

  • Welcoming environment.
  • Communication.
  • Student success.
  • Advocacy.
  • Family and school partnerships.
  • Community partnerships.

The survey will be available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese. 

Parents/caregivers will receive a survey link via email from FCPS on March 9. A survey link will also be posted on FCPS’ website. Paper surveys will be available at each school. Please stay tuned for more information.

Spring Picture Day Is Friday

Wear Your BEST Smile!

Victor O'Neill will be taking Spring Pictures on Friday, March 13, 2026.  You will be able to view and order your child's photos in their online gallery approximately ten days after picture day.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Victor O'Neill Studios by emailing Underclass@vosphoto.com

What to Expect on Spring Picture Day – No photo slips or prepayment is needed

  • All classes will have a class photo taken
  • All students will be photographed

After Picture Day

  • Parents will be able to order online approximately 10 days after Picture Day. Each family will be emailed directly with their child’s photo proof.

Free shipping will be available for 2 weeks after the images are online

Family Liaison Corner

Family Café series Connected Families: Navigating the Digital World Together.

This family workshop provides hands-on learning about internet safety to inform families of:

  • Today’s popular social sites and apps used by students
  • Effective strategies to engage youth in discussions regarding internet safety
  • 7 primary topics to discuss with youth that will remain important from kindergarten through adulthood

Interpreters and childcare will be available.

We’re excited to offer the Elementary Institute for the Arts (E-IFTA), a vibrant summer enrichment program for students currently in grades K–5, while students in grade 6 may participate in our secondary program, the Institute for the Arts (IFTA). Both programs provide daily experiences in Art, Music, Theatre, and Dance within a fun and supportive environment that fosters creativity and confidence. To ensure accessibility for all families, we offer tuition assistance, transportation, and aftercare options.

Find more opportunities for children to engage in engineering by exploring the STEAM Kits and STEAM events provided by FCPL 

The Sibshops workshops are for children in grades 2-6 enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools who have siblings with support needs to meet other siblings in a relaxed setting. Celebrate the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of children with special needs, share sibling experiences, and receive peer support. Play games and have fun.
