Like so many women who struggle with hair loss, Tami Wong’s road to self-acceptance was filled with quiet heartbreak.
She was just 15 when her hair began to thin while taking Accutane. At the time, hair loss wasn’t listed as a possible side effect of the acne drug and her doctors insisted the medication wasn’t to blame for her widening part. Today, we know that Accutane causes hair loss in three to six per cent of users.
