Dear aaa,
Crushed under the rubble, they slowly succumb to their injuries. Left behind as more than 1.2 million people flee, they scour the empty bins for food. Under heavy bombardment they jump out of their skin in terror, with no one to soothe them. Animals deserve better.
As the conflict in the Middle East rages, Lebanon is living through one of the deadliest chapters in its history. With only a few minutes’ notice before airstrikes, many families were forced to flee with nearly nothing but the clothes on their backs. Some could not bring their pets, and those who could take them find it hard to afford to care for them.
Animals Lebanon are risking their lives to save and treat animals. We want to help. |

With Animals Lebanon - a Lebanese animal welfare organisation - leading the response on the ground, FOUR PAWS is providing the support they need to ensure the survival of as many animals as possible and to reunite rescued pets with their families.
On the ground, volunteers from Animals Lebanon are putting it all on the line to fulfil their mission: rescuing animals from dangerous areas and reuniting them with their families, feeding the animals left behind, providing displaced families with pet care essentials and administering lifesaving treatment and rehabilitation for injured animals. |
The situation is volatile. Animals like Enzo rely on your compassion to survive.
During a search-and-rescue operation in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Animals Lebanon received a call about an animal lingering just a few meters away from a fuel station that was reportedly at risk of being targeted by an airstrike.
The strike could happen at any moment. Yet, the Animals Lebanon team rushed to the scene, undeterred. What they found was harrowing: a tiny kitten with matted fur and a severely infected and swollen eye, whom they named Enzo. |
At a veterinary clinic, the true extent of his injuries was revealed. Enzo was in a very bad state.
The examination showed that Enzo was underweight, running a high temperature, and suffering from multiple conditions – an upper respiratory infection and a virus, possibly feline herpes, which likely caused his eye infection. But Enzo and his carers fought hard for his life. Now on antibiotics and under professional care, he is slowly recovering.
But Enzo’s story is hardly unique. As a fifth of Lebanon’s population scrambles to survive in a volatile environment, human suffering takes centre stage. Animals aren’t seen as a priority, yet they suffer just as deeply. Separated from their communities, your aid is key to their survival, aaa.
In situations like this, your gift is more than just a donation. It means hope and it makes the world a better place, even in these difficult times. Donate now to help us rescue, feed and reunite animals with their communities.
Our thoughts continue to be with everyone in the region - humans and animals alike.
