Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've been swamped with this home renovation project. We finally decided on the paint colors for the living room and hallway. It's amazing how much time picking the right shade of white can take. Everyone has an opinion, right? We're going with a warm off-white with cool grey undertones for the main areas. For the accent wall in the dining room, we're actually going to do a deep forest green. I know it sounds bold, but we have this beautiful antique sideboard that will pop against it. The contractor started framing out the new shelves in the reading nook last week. It's starting to look like a real house instead of just a construction zone. We still have to pick out light fixtures and cabinet hardware, which feels endless. Anyway, just wanted to give you a quick update since you asked. Hope you and the family are doing great. Hi there, just following up on our conversation from last week about the hiking trail recommendations. We finally got a chance to check out the new loop at Spotted Bear Pass. The elevation gain was pretty steady, about 1200 feet over three miles, but the views at the top were completely worth it. We even saw a small herd of mountain goats on the ridge. The trail conditions were surprisingly good for this time of year, mostly dry with just a few muddy patches near the creek crossings. We brought trekking poles which helped a lot on the descent. I would suggest starting early if you go, the parking lot was almost full when we got back to the car around 1 PM. There is a great little diner about 15 minutes south of the trailhead that serves amazing pie, a perfect post-hike reward. Let me know if you want more specific details on the route or gear recommendations for the altitude change. Overall it was a fantastic day out and we are already planning our next trip up there.
