This graph from Ember might be one of the most important energy transition visuals we have seen in years. Not because it predicts the future with certainty. But because it challenges one of the deepest assumptions in economic history: that countries must first go through a long fossil-fuel phase before becoming modern and electrified. What the Ember analysis shows is that India may be starting to bypass the deep fossil fuel dependency that defined the industrial rise of both the West and China.
