Afternoon Carpool Line
From Chicken Soup for the Soul: Being Grandma
By Sharon Braner

I’m not retired, I’m a professional grandma.
~Author Unknown

It was a typical fall day in Dallas, warm and sunny. We were sitting in the grandchild’s carpool line, something we’d done many times before.

This carpool line is an incredible sight to behold. Only Chick-fil-A’s plan to get people and cars through a line in a short amount of time can compare.

'Weight Care Can't Wait': Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food blog. A chubby pug stands and looks at camera.

Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the most effective ways to extend a pet’s lifespan and improve their daily quality of life. Even a few extra pounds can put significant strain on a dog or cat's joints, heart, and respiratory system, often leading to chronic conditions like arthritis or diabetes. Switching to a weight-care specific formula can also be beneficial, as these diets are higher in fiber to help pets feel full while containing fewer calories and targeted nutrients like L-carnitine to help support healthy weight and metabolism.

Helping your pet maintain a healthy weight is one way to promote a longer, healthier and happier life together. More walks. More snuggles. More time. Read more in our Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food blog.
