Oh wow that sounds like a great trip you are planning. I have always wanted to try that trail near the lake. The views around this time of year are supposed to be incredible. Make sure you pack enough layers though the temperature drops pretty fast once the sun goes down. Honestly the last time I went hiking I forgot my water bottle and had to turn back early.
