I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month. It took a few tries to get the hydration right, but once it started bubbling consistently, it was incredibly satisfying. I've been feeding it regularly and have made three loaves so far. The crust is nowhere near as good as yours yet, but the crumb is getting there. I also experimented with adding some whole wheat flour and a bit of honey to one batch, which gave it a nice subtle sweetness. zuzQ706fWP0 Let me know if you have any tips for getting a better oven spring. I was thinking of buying a Dutch oven specifically for baking bread, but I'm not sure if it's worth the investment. Anyway, hope you and the family are doing well. Let's catch up properly soon. I owe you one for the recipe.

I finally finished reorganizing the garage last weekend. It took way longer than I expected because I kept stopping to look at old boxes of photos and random memorabilia from college. I found my old baseball glove, which was pretty cool. I ended up installing a heavy-duty shelving unit I ordered online, and it made a huge difference. Now I can actually park my car inside without dodging bikes and camping gear. The next project is probably the basement, but I'm not in a huge rush to start that one. It's amazing how much stuff accumulates over the years, isn't it? I've been trying to adopt a one-in-one-out policy, but it's harder than it sounds. Anyway, just wanted to share that small victory. Let me know what you think about Saturday for the cookout.
